Charisse C is a DJ and presenter of Abantu on No Signal, a biweekly show (Fridays 2-3) where Charisse, aka the Authentic Duplicate, draws her selections from her diasporan experience. Her mother’s love for African gospel and R&B, and her father’s passion for Chimurenga and Reggae, were her gateways into music. Charisse’s taste is curious and soulful; you’ll hear her play Southern Africa’s variety, alongside the many electronic genres birthed by the melting pot which raised her.
